Customer Interviews No. 1

When I first read the assignment, I found myself sitting for a good while simply trying to think of an "opportunity". After a good I had several ideas, including the on I used. I came to the idea of an all purpose weather cover for scooters because I just recently bought a scooter and I keep it outside. In the long run keeping a scooter outside (not in a garage) is not the best idea, so I realized I needed a weather cover for the scooter. Tons of these already exist but they all seem like a hassle, so I figured I'd create a cover thats convenient and easy to use. Obviously the market would be scooter owners, which is an ever growing market here in Gainesville. I went around my dorm and interviewed people on the floor above me. Of the people, one person owned a scooter, and all of them said if they owned a scooter they would definitely consider buying a weather cover. Where everyone differed was the price that they would be willing to pay. $30-$100 with nobody willing to pay over a hundred for a cover. I believe the opportunity is legitimate, with it going hand in hand with the continued growth of scooter sales here in Gainesville.

  3. Wow I had never thought of that opportunity before! I also own a scooter and have started to notice some weathering occur on my scooter. Having a low-cost cover for scooters would be a great idea, especially given the market her in Gainesville. This would definitely help the scooters life which would benefit the owner greatly. Also, we had similar criteria with asking them the general questions, such as if they would like our opportunity and what they do before we present our opportunity to them.     I really enjoyed your blog about scooter covers. It's a great idea and there is definitely a market for it in Gainesville. I think you did a great job on your interviews and figuring out what you could charge was a good idea. I chose to interview people to find out their thoughts on solar power.   5. Hi Anan! I really liked your weather cover opportunity that you came up with! I definitely think it will become a necessary purchase for all scooter owners in the Gainesville area. I think it's cool how much we can learn about our own idea, just by interviewing customers! Next time, I recommend that you interview only scooter owners and see how their answers match up to your initial interviews. Best of luck!
