Celebrating Failure

I suppose I will take this assignment as an opportunity to talk about the fact that I cannot seem to do well in Survey of Calculus MAC2233 (have an exam Thursday wish me luck). Throughout the first two exams, both methods of studying I did resulted in bas results on the exams. Hours upon hours were spent studying material, but evidently in the wrong way. This had led me to prepare more for my upcoming way and led me to study for efficiently. Also, for the first two exams I was in Colorado until a few days before the exam, for this exam Ill be here the entire time. I learned that sometimes my best just isn't enough, which is why I believe people all have specific things they are good at. Also, I learned to persevere and to set a mentality of success which hopefully will heed positive results in the course and throughout life in general. I think failure is something that needs to happen on the path to success, if you never experience failure, you will never understand what success is. i handle failure by looking towards to future.

  1. Alagana,
Math is a tough subject. It’s a lot of practice time. You should try a new method, such as, Tutoring Zone. They helped me study with some subjects I had difficulty with. Sometimes if our study methods don’t work, we need to look at other people’s perspectives. I like your picture. I believe that success comes shortly after failure. I love that you said, “…if you never experience failure, you won’t know what success is.” Good luck on your test! I handle failure in a similar fashion. I don’t just look to the future. I take it as a lesson to be learned, and finding new ways to get to my end goal. I didn’t just list one failure this past semester. I listed a failure at work, home, and school. You should check it out on my blog at: http://entuf.blogspot.com/2016/04/celebrating-failure.html

  2. Hi Anan, I appreciate your outlook on failure and how you can still achieve success in spite of setbacks. My failure is similar to yours and that I too did not do well on my first exam. But you didn’t give up, kept at working towards doing better and hopefully it will pay off on your upcoming exam. Thank you for sharing and I’ve included a link to my blog here: http://js-uf-ent3003-2016.blogspot.com/2016/04/celebrating-failure.html

  3. I think it's important to remember, specifically about your situation, that one class isn't going to make or break you. Looking at the bright side, at least now you know how you're going to have to study for exams for future classes. It's also okay to ask for help from tutors or TAs. After all, that's what they're there for. My failure story is also about a class, managerial accounting, if you want to check that out: http://kenny-o.blogspot.com/2016/04/celebrating-failure.html
